QDot™ PbS (Lead Sulfide) Quantum Dots, oleic acid capped, absorb light from UV and visible up to the short-wave infrared (SWIR) spectral range. Quantum Dots can also re-emit the light in SWIR range.  The absorption/emission profiles can be tuned from 800 to 2200 nm, simply by changing nanoparticle sizes from 2 to 12 nm. This material has outstanding light absorption and photoelectrical properties and is considered the best quantum dot absorber in short-wave infrared (SWIR) photodetectors and image sensors. The material can also  be suitable as absorbers in X-ray sensors and solar cells. Or the material can be suitable as infrared emitting inks, probes or used for infrared LEDs.

For specific application convenience, two product lines of QDot™ PbS quantum dots are available:

  • Absorption (abs) type: the portfolio of products with absorption peaks varying from 800 to 2200 nm (see the specs)
  • Emission (em) type: the portfolio of products with emission peaks varying from 900 to 1600 nm range (see the specs)

QDot™ PbS QDs, oleic acid capped, can be supplied as a solid paste/powder that is easily soluble in octane or any other non-polar solvents (hexane, toluene, chloroform, chlorobenzene, dichlorobenzene) in a wide range of concentration up to 100-150 mg/mL.
